The sleek, durable design of the new Freedom Air V2 from JTX makes this folding rowing machine a stylish addition to your home gym.
This rower from is a serious contender as it features 8 levels of resistance, 7 point adjustable pedals, is self-powered (no plugs required), features a smartphone (or small tablet) holder and of course a performance monitor.
We like the elegant black/dark finish which seems to be inspired from the king of the category and our top choice yet more expensive, the Concept 2 reviewed just above.
It also features a much better program system than its predecessor. Indeed, you will be able to monitor all sort of things such as:
- 500m split time,
- Total strokes,
- Heart rate (when used with a heart rate monitor).
The JTX Freedom Air V2 is expertly designed to provide an accurate rowing simulation. The full air resistance system matches your intensity, providing more resistance the harder and faster you row. If you’ve used a rower at the gym, you’ll recognise the feel. It’s also worth noting that the Air Resistance Technology on this machine keeps noise to a minimum.
Easy to store, the Freedom Air V2 can be easily moved thanks to its transport wheels.
For less than £600, this new rower from JTX is unbelievable value for money and we can’t fault it.

CONCEPT 2 MODEL D INDOOR ROWER
The Concept 2 Model D indoor rowing machine is the best in its category, and has been for a while now. It’s modern, it’s reliable, it’s practical, it’s easy to assembly but it is expensive. Its price is easily justified though.
If money was no object to you and you want to make a solid investment, then the Concept 2 Model D Rowing Machine is by excellence, the machine of choice.
Its flywheel and spiral damper allow you to adjust the level of tension and resistance easily and simply at any point during the workout.
Speaking of workout.. its seat movement is smooth and DOESN’T NOT make a noise. Very impressive!
As expected, this rower can be folded away for an easy storage.
Put it simply, this machine is a very strong contender to the “best indoor rower” on the market.
WATERROWER CLUB ROWER
The WaterRower Club Rowing Machine in Ash Wood with S4 Monitor is a water resistance rowing machine.
It uses a “water flywheel”, or paddles suspended in a tank of water, to provide resistance for the user.
When a rower pulls the handle, it causes the paddles to spin. As the paddles spin, they must displace the water in front of them, which causes the resistance.
As the user rows faster, the paddles spin faster, and create more resistance. To feel more resistance, a user must row faster. To feel less resistance, just row slower.
This classic indorr rower has marvellous engineering properties, primary amongst these is its ability to absorb sound and vibration enhancing the WaterRower’s quietness and smoothness of use.
You’ll have to spend around £1,000 for this machine, but it’s well worth the money.
